Export from the Mac app
- Open Dayflow and choose Settings in the sidebar.
- Open Export.
- Choose the start and end dates under Export your data.
- Click Export as Markdown, choose where to save the file, and click Export.
- Open the saved
.mdfile in a text editor. Check its dates and activities before using it.
The app reports how many activities and days it saved. In our local verification, exporting one existing day saved 12 activities. That confirms the export action, not the completeness or accuracy of any particular user's work history.
Use the export in a report
Group related activities, then confirm what was finished in your task tracker, documents, or code review. Use the weekly report template for progress and blockers, or the daily work log to keep the activity sequence.
You can also give selected, reviewed text to an assistant. Ask it to keep uncertain outcomes explicit and to leave missing information as questions. See the Claude Code report workflow for a reusable prompt.
If the export looks incomplete
Check the date range and the original timeline. Paused recording, missing screen-recording permission, and analysis still in progress can leave gaps. A successful export contains the available activities; it does not recover work that was never captured.
The Reprocess day control is a separate action. It reruns analysis and may use provider credits. You do not need it just to export a file.
