How to fill it in

  1. Scan your timeline, calendar, and project tracker for the week. Group related activities by project.
  2. Check what was merged, delivered, approved, or left open. Time spent is evidence of activity, not proof of completion.
  3. Keep the report to the changes your reader needs to know. Add offline decisions and blockers yourself.

Start from your actual work

On a Mac, Dayflow can help you remember the work behind the update. It drafts a timeline from screen activity. Export a date range as Markdown from Settings → Export. Review that record alongside your calendar and task tracker, then fill in the template above.

For a guided walkthrough, see exporting your work history or drafting a report with Claude Code. Check the assistant's draft before sending it.

Local AI keeps screenshot analysis on-device. Your own cloud provider or Dayflow Pro processes selected screenshots off-device. An assistant can receive the Dayflow data it retrieves in your conversation. Local storage does not make a cloud assistant conversation local. Read the data-flow guide before choosing a workflow.

Questions about this template

What belongs in a weekly status report?

Include completed work, current work, blockers or decisions, and next steps. Put the most important change at the top and link to evidence when it helps the reader.

Can I use this in Word or Google Docs?

Yes. Copy your draft into either editor, or download it as a text file. The headings and bullet points are intentionally simple to edit.

How is a status report different from a work log?

A work log records activities over time. A status report selects the outcomes and risks that matter to a particular reader. Use the log to remember the week, then check and edit the report.
